Growing Up
I was born and raised in El Salvador. Growing up, I always understand that education was an important bridge to bettering myself and my family’s situation.
The idea of college as a realistic option vanished when I became pregnant at the age of sixteen and dropped out of high school. However, while volunteering at my second child’s kindergarten class at the age of 23, I fell in love with teaching and made the decision to go back to school to finish high school with the ultimate goal of becoming an educator.
